			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hot on the heels of last year’s impressive growth in activity, Templine is once again set to unveil another dramatic rise in assignment volumes.  Temporary colleague days increased by 35% in 2011 &#8211; all achieved through organic growth.</p>
<p>Chairman Stewart Rogers said, ‘The temporary agency market was unsettled due to the implementation of the new Agency Worker Regulations.  But our teams met the challenge with professionalism and have given a lot of confidence to our clients in the solutions they offered.  I have no doubt that this benefitted our business.’ </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is with deep sadness that Templine has to announce the untimely death of Mark Edwards, who passed away at his home in Sutton Coldfield at the age of 52. News of his death was broken to the company on Wednesday 18th January.</p>
<p>Mark, together with Stephen Brown, founded the business in 1984 when it was principally concerned with providing temporary drivers. Initially Templine operated from modest premises in Erdington before expanding into the larger offices, currently used by one of its high street branches. Mark and Stephen oversaw the expansion of the business as it established itself in other high street locations and took on several blue-chip customers.</p>
<p>In 2007, Mark played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful management buyout of Templine that has allowed it to grow at an even faster rate. Although not actively involved in the day-to-day running of the company, Mark kept an interest in the business – even retaining a small shareholding.</p>
<p>Prior to establishing Templine, Mark served with the Coldstream Guards. This early training enabled him to bring energy, enthusiasm and attention to detail that impressed everyone who worked with him.</p>
<p>He will be sadly missed by all who worked for and alongside him in the Industry.</p>

<p>‘We had most of the necessary systems in place, so attention was mainly focused on documenting what we already had rather than designing and implementing new procedures,’ commented Debbie Thorpe, who headed the project on behalf of Templine.</p>
<p>Enthusing about the project Debbie said, ‘I was pleased to learn that the whole exercise involves an on-going commitment to quality.  It’s not simply a few hoops that have to be jumped through once.  It’s a genuine commitment to our customers and staff that we will follow our policies and procedures.’</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At the start of April Templine moved into new head offices located on Birmingham Business Park, close to the NEC and the national motorway network – M42 and M6.  A bespoke fit-out was undertaken to provide a variety of meeting rooms, effective working spaces for key head office functions – including the expanding Accounts Department – and offices to provide ‘hot-desks’ for managers as well as directors.</p>
<p>Tony Bucciero, Managing Director of Templine said, ‘This is a step-change in Templine’s history.  Recent expansion forced us to relocate and this building is a statement of the company’s recent success.  But it is not a trophy, it is an important tool through which we intend to further expand the business.’</p>
<p>Critical to the office’s location was its proximity to the motorway network, the railway link provided by Birmingham International and Birmingham International Airport.  This underlines Templine’s commitment to providing truly national coverage.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Templine recently began supplying temporary colleagues to CCUK(Customised Central UK) as part of a joint agency arrangement.  CCUK is a Proctor &amp; Gamble company based in Thurrock that packages a variety of cleaning products, shampoo, conditioner, batteries and similar items from one of its twelve lines.</p>
<p>Building on its long association with Wincanton, Templine took on the assignment after impressing with its operational knowledge.  Commenting on the change Sarah Ward – General Manager of the site – said, ‘CCUK is a difficult contract to manage, due to large fluctuations in volume and short notice changes.  The Templine team has managed the transition very well and I think the approach its staff have in getting to know the operation and team well in advance of the contract start date works well, and helped things go smoothly.’</p>
<p>Existing staff transferred under TUPE provisions – an exercise that was successfully completed in February under the supervision of senior management and with day-to-day input from Kelly Neighbour, one of Templine’s National Implementation Team members.  Her last assignment involved picking and to switch to a packaging environment was an unexpected challenge.  With clear enthusiasm for her role, Kelly commented, ‘I’ve had a hat-trick: my first packaging environment, first TUPE and first joint agency.  It was a massive challenge and great experience but made easy by everyone at CCUK who have been friendly and approachable – something that makes you feel appreciated – and we have a very mature, working relationship with the other on-site agency.’</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At the end of January, Templine hosted a half-day seminar to assist with understanding the content and likely impact of the AWR (Agency Worker Regulations).  Paul Chamberlain, Partner with Brabners Chaffe Street LLP, was the key speaker.  He is a recognised national expert on the subject, having advised the government amongst others, and was able to draw on his extensive knowledge and experience in the employment sector to give an enlightening, if somewhat worrying view of the regulations.</p>
<p>Tony Bucciero, Managing Director of Templine, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, ‘This was the first large-scale event we have hosted but I know it was worth it.  Everyone involved in the sector needs to be on top of the regulations and their implications.  Questions from the delegates demonstrated that it is a serious subject with potentially, large, adverse legal and financial consequences for those who get it wrong.’</p>

<p>At the start of the year demand proved so strong that a new senior manager was required to take charge and in March Liz Bucciero was persuaded to join.  She comes with a reputation that is well known and respected in the industry.</p>
<p>Spearheading Templine’s assault on the sector Liz commented, ‘The growth of the business has been nothing short of phenomenal, which is a big word but I think it’s right for our situation.  We’ve got drivers working from London to the Midlands and beyond.  And the phones just don’t stop ringing.  To say we’re busy just doesn’t do justice to my team but I wouldn’t have it any other way.’</p>
