Temporary Recruitment Sectors

Critical to Templine’s success is the active management of its temps. Large users of agency staff benefit from a full on-site managed service but those with smaller requirements still benefit from a tailored service.

Retail & Logistics Sector

Templine has a team that specialises in the provision of staff and managed labour services into the logistics sector. Logistics management is that part of the supply chain which plans, implements and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods, services and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customer and legal requirements. Without the correct number and quality of staff this flow grinds to a shuddring halt and this is where Templine comes into its own.

Templine also work closely with a number of third party logistics companies that manage the flow and storeage of goods for some of the most established High Street retailers. This sector includes the motor trade, auto repairs, personal and household goods industries. The Blue Book 2006 reports that this sector added gross value of £127,520 million to the UK economy in 2004. Third-party logistics involves using external organizations to execute logistics activities that have traditionally been performed within an organization itself. According to this definition, third-party logistics includes any form of outsourcing of logistics activities previously performed in-house. If, for example, a company with its own warehousing facilities decides to employ external transportation, this would be an example of third-party logistics. Logistics is an emerging business area in many countries and Templine are becoming an expert in partnering some of the biggest 3PL’s in the UK.

Manufacturing Sector

The supply of staff into the manufacturing sector requires for a different set of skills and provides a different set of challenges to the recruitment consultant to that of say, the retail and logistics sector. The workers that thrive in this sector have to be used to an environment and set of productivity measures that differ from other secotrs of the economy. Recognising the need for workers that have this experience and expectation is key to getting the right people first time.

Although the manufacturing sector’s share of both employment and the UK’s GDP has steadily fallen since the 1960s, data from the OECD shows that manufacturing output in terms of both production and value has steadily increased since 1945. A 2009 report from PricewaterhouseCoopers, citing data from the UK Office for National Statistics, stated that manufacturing output (Gross Value Added at 2007 prices) has increased in 35 of the 50 years between 1958 and 2007, and output in 2007 was at record levels, approximately double that in 1958.

Public Sector

Templine have a long history of providing staff to the public sector – sometimes referred to as the state sector. The particular sectors within the public bodies that Templine supply staff to are those that require blue collar workers to deal with either the production, delivery and allocation of goods and services by and for the government or its citizens, whether national, regional or local/municipal.
